Beginning Friday, the clients of the Irene Stacy Community Mental Health Clinic will be served by a new provider.
The Butler County commissioners approved 21 contracts Wednesday with Diversified Human Services and The CARE Center, both based in Washington County. They will provide mental health and drug and alcohol services. The agencies will host satellite offices at Irene Stacy, which means the 2,000 clients that are currently receiving services there will not notice a change in the new year.
“I’m extremely relieved no one will have a disruption in services,” County Human Services Director Joyce Ainsworth said Wednesday. “That was really critical.”
Back in October, the county revoked its contract with Irene Stacy due to concerns over the clinic’s finances. Without those contracts, Irene Stacy could not continue to operate and filed bankruptcy.
According to Ainsworth, several employees of Irene Stacy were picked up by the two new agencies.
