The Cleveland Browns defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-22 Sunday in Cleveland to clinch their first playoff spot for the first time since the 2002 season. The Steelers failed to convert a two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter that could have forced overtime.

The Steelers played without several veteran players who rested for the post-season. Mason Rudolph started at quarterback and threw for 315 yards and two touchdowns. He had one interception – which the Browns turned into a short drive for a touchdown.
The Steelers had four sacks to extend their NFL record, despite playing without two defensive lineman and linebacker T.J. Watt.

The two division rivals will meet again this weekend to open the NFL playoffs. The Steelers will host the Browns for a Sunday night match-up. Kick-off will be 8:15pm.

A limited number of fans will be able to attend the game at Heinz Field.

Cornerback Joe Haden and tight end Eric Ebron both missed the game following positive COVID tests – and will be unavailable for the first playoff game.
