One person was killed and another severely injured when a car struck a tree in Slippery Rock Township, Butler County Tuesday night.
State Police say 39-year-old Aaron Burd of Butler was driving a vehicle described as a “roadster kit car” northbound on Slippery Rock Road when he lost control about 9:15 p.m.
The vehicle veered off the side of the road, struck a tree and overturned.
Passenger 26-year-old Tanya Tyson of Butler was pronounced dead at the scene. Burd was severely injured and flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Police say neither was wearing a seat belt.
