A man was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital early Tuesday following a crash just east of the Butler County line in Armstrong.
The crash between a tractor trailer and a car happened about 5:45 a.m. on Route 268 (East Brady Road) towards Kittanning in Sugarcreek Township.
Firefighters from Chicora were called in to assist Armstrong crews with freeing a man who was trapped in the car. Firefighter Jason Miller said the unidentified male was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
The cause is under investigation but Miller said it appeared one of the vehicles crossed the center line.
A portion of Rt. 268 was closed for about two hours.
Calls to the Sugarcreek Township Volunteer Fire Department were not immediately returned.
