Although South Butler School District is planning some changes to their curriculum, rumors about adding a Starbucks to the library are untrue.
According to a district spokesman, conversations were had about revamping the high school library into a learning center but adding a coffee shop with video games is not part of the plan and changes are not on the horizon.
Due to a continuing drop in enrollment and rising health care and retirement costs, a recent press release says that South Butler will change to offer world language classes beginning in high school. French will eventually be eliminated but Mandarin Chinese and Latin will be offered as part of the district’s cyber curriculum.
A revised curriculum presentation will be given at the board’s agenda setting meeting tomorrow (6/3) before the final budget vote at the meeting next Wednesday (6/10).
