Several local students attending local schools have been awarded scholarships from Central Electric Cooperative.
Eleven students were awarded $2,000 each as part of the Good Neighbor Scholarship. The parents of the students are members of the cooperative and the students were chosen based on the merits of their volunteer service to community, church and school.
Those winners include Skyler Hinchberger of Prospect who is attending Robert Morris University, Amy Adelman of Emlenton who is attending University of Pittsburgh, Samantha Hornyak of Valencia who is attending St. Vincent College, Danielle Kepple of East Brady who is attending Slippery Rock University, Michaela Callendar of Parker who will be going to Waynesburg University, William Henry III of Butler who is attending Slippery Rock University, Nakia Garver of Butler who is also attending Slippery Rock University, Erica Petras of Worthington who is going to Butler County Community College and Gina McKinney of Prospect who is also going to BC3.
Good Neighbor Scholarships are also available to students who are currently enrolled in post-secondary education as well as adult cooperative members who are furthering their education.
