Police are warning residents just over the Butler County line in Shaler Township, Allegheny County of several bear sightings Tuesday morning.
The Shaler Township Police Department say they have received reports of bear cub sightings in the northern portion of the township, both near Route 8 and Mt. Royal Boulevard.
Authorities urge residents to avoid approaching or attempting to feed the bears. The bears should continue to move out of the area as long as they don’t have a food source.
If a bear becomes a nuisance or remains in one confined area, you’re advised to call 911 and emergency officials will then contact the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
