The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Miami Marlins 5-1 last night at PNC Park to win their fifth straight game.
Pirate starter Jeff Locke did not allow a run while pitching into the sixth inning. He walked four and struck out six. His record improved to 3-2.
Second baseman Neil Walker hit a two-run home run in the second inning. Josh Harrison and Jung Ho Kang each had two hits, including doubles to lead the Pirates.
The Bucs wrap-up their series with the Marlins, and go for their second consecutive series sweep this afternoon at 12:35pm.
The Pirates head to the west coast after the game and will face San Diego in a four-game series beginning tomorrow night.
The Pirates are now 23-22 overall and 6-1/2 games behind first-place St. Louis.
The Butler BlueSox begin their 2015 season tonight in Jamestown, New York. The Sox will host Champion City to open their home schedule Thursday night at Kelly Automotive Park.
