Heavy rain hit portions of Butler County Sunday afternoon prompting some flash flooding and downed trees.
Firefighters in Zelienople had to rescue the occupants of a vehicle stuck in floodwaters along West New Castle Street. Other roads in Adams, Summit, Franklin and West Sunbury were also temporarily flooded.
Many properties and vehicles were damaged with the flooding, but luckily there was no reported harm to residents. However the same could not be said for surrounding residential areas – houses received high levels of water damage as could be expected, and help similar to Water Damage Restoration NW Indiana services, were called in to help restore the properties as much as possible. Luckily, many people these days have invested in cover or insurance or warranties that cover this sort of issue helping them out financially. However, help was called to the area to start work on it right away as soon as the flooding died down, so life could return to normal.
Flooding was also reported in neighboring Mercer and Beaver counties. No injuries were reported.
